second in series...

Valing the Violation
5-27-07

My heart twists and churns for the insane longing that burns inside me.
When all the while I know I’m just a toy to fate and time,
To be tossed about and spun around with careless abandon and whim.

And my restless spirit cries out for release.
My soul demands relief from the constant barrage of wind.
Because with every breath I take and decision I make,
The fuse loses an inch of life.
The clocks tick off another second of time.

And I’m stuck in the maze and this Smokey haze of childish helplessness.
When eyes look and see only the years and what they think should be seen.
No one looks beyond the surface to see the truth and wisdom,
The valor and the will.

But every day of my life I’m taking a test,
Laying another brick in this path I tread.
And it kills me to think that with just one wrong step,
Just one weak link in the chain of my determined resolve,
I could lose all I live for.
All I’m working towards.

I knew at the outset it wouldn’t be easy;
A chastity of eighteen months to test the defenses.
So I grit my teeth and raise my voice to cry out a song to the night,
Demanding strength and calm as the months drag on,
Agonizingly on and on.

And despite the chorus of reproach we face
And that I must combat every day,
I fix my gaze on the middle distance,
Framing your face in the dirty walls
And take the next step to building the foundation
On which together, the two shall at last stand tall.

mmm, You know what I think...

And although I don't truely know what this is about as far as what you perceive it to be, if I understand just one aspect of it, you've no need to worry...your not the only person singing the same tune...

it was good, and i like andy dont see the true meaning, but that's a sign of a good poem, because it has meaning to u, and if no one can figure out the meaning, that usually means that its good
